Kylie claims classic car [sic]

Should be "Kylie klaims klassic kar, kapeesh?
May 29, 2004 - 8:30AM

Kylie Minogue's boyfriend Olivier Martinez surprised the Aussie pop diva with a classic car for her 36th birthday.

The French actor went shopping in California for the perfect gift for his famous lover, who turned 36, Britain's Sun newspaper reported.

Minogue has been dating Martinez for more than a year but the pair are yet to officially announce wedding plans.

In an interview on the Parkinson program in February, Minogue admitted her age was a concern considering her desire to become a mother.

And she revealed her sadness at not having children earlier and settling down in a long, happy marriage like her parents.

Talking about having children, the singer said: "I know it will be the best thing I've ever done." When interviewer Michael Parkinson asked if she wanted to get married rather than live together, Minogue spoke about her parents, Ron and Carol, who have been married for 37 years.

"For quite a number of years, I've looked at my parents and they're just still together, they're still in love. They miss each other madly, they hold hands and canoodle," she said.

"They're just the best example for me. And it slightly pains me to think that I will never have that, my chance for that has already gone," she said.

"Because I'm 35. They did that when they were 22, to start a family that young and to be together for such a long time, so I've come to terms with that.

"But I would still like to, definitely, to have something secure and wonderful."

Kylie likes Paris [France] and
Paris [Hilton] likes Kylie

PARIS HILTON thought she’d made pals with KYLIE MINOGUE after singing at a Melbourne nightclub. The twit girl raced over squealing: “Did you like it?” only to find “Kylie” was an impersonator in drag. How I laughed.

Lock up your sons

PREPARE for gridlock as the Hilton sisters bring South Yarra to a standstill tonight.

Greville St was buzzing with anticipation late last night for the long-awaited reunion between Paris Hilton and Australian Idol's Robert 'Millsy' Mills.

Paris, who arrived from the Gold Coast last night and sister Nicky were due to head straight to the back bar of Darren Thornbergh's Boutique Nightclub in Prahran.

There, they were expected to join hand-picked guests including Mills, Kylie Minogue, Delta Goodrem, Nick Giannopoulos, Mick Molloy, the Daves Hughes and O'Neil and Kate Langbroek.

The casts of Stingers and Neighbours were also invited to join fashion designer Bettina Liano for the party, due to start at midnight.

The other purpose for the Hilton sisters' visit to Melbourne is to star in a Sportsgirl commercial to be filmed at the label's store in Chapel St, South Yarra, this evening.

Production company, Dare, which makes Sportsgirl's ads, said they were counting on a huge public turn-up to the filming, which starts at 6pm.

'Paris and Nicky will be making quite amazing entrances,' one of the commercial's producers said.

'We asked them to be in the ad because they shop quite regularly at Sportsgirl shops on the Gold Coast and Melbourne. They love the clothes. So we took advantage of them being in the country.'

Last week it was understood Paris would come to Melbourne with her boyfriend, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter. But apparently the long-distance lovers have had another tiff -- and Nicky agreed to fly from New York to accompany her sister.

This freed up the ever-observant Thornbergh to invite Millsy at the 11th hour. Last time Paris was at Boutique, she still hadn't met Mills and was asking to be photographed with Collingwood forward Chris Tarrant and gave her number to former Geelong player Marcus Baldwin.

She met Millsy in Sydney two days later, so the infatuations with the footballers were short-lived.

Up until Friday afternoon, the good people at Dare were still re-writing the scripts for Paris and Nicky's Sportsgirl commercial, to appear on-line next month.

After today's filming, Paris is heading back for a final week of work on the horror film, The House of Wax while Nicky flies home to New York.

No, Australians will not see a second 'royal' wedding - well, not yet, anyway.

Pop princess Kylie Minogue, appearing at a Kids Help Line benefit in Melbourne last night, addressed rumours she had returned to Australia to get married to boyfriend French actor Olivier Martinez simply by holding up her hands.

'No, no ring,' she said, smiling graciously.

She tackled that other rumour with an emphatic 'no', quashing speculation she may be pregnant.

A more likely prospect in the near future is a return to Australia with a greatest-hits tour.

'It's not announced, it's not confirmed, but it is something I've been thinking about,' she said. "

Label dumps Dannii

By Toby Forage

DANNII Minogue has been dumped by her record label, Warner, after sales of her latest album, Neon Lights, flopped in the UK.

In stark contrast to the success of older sister Kylie, Dannii now faces a battle to get re-signed for any releases down the track.

"Dannii won’t be releasing another record with Warner. She enjoyed some success but just doesn’t sell enough records to merit a new deal," a label insider told The Sun in London.

"She is a bit disappointed but has vowed to get a new deal elsewhere. She is writing some new material and hopes a smaller label may snap her up.

"These are tough times for pop acts and I’ve a nasty feeling there is more of a clear-out to come."

Fellow Aussie Holly Valance has also been axed recently, perhaps proving that the soap star to pop star bubble is now longer inflatable.

Dannii's success with singles in Britain has been more upbeat than the album sales.

While she's missed out on coveted No.1s - something Kylie has achieved with regular ease in Britain and across Europe - her recent single I Begin To Wonder did reach No.2.

Don’t Wanna Lose This Feeling, Dannii's most recnet UK release, scrambled to No5 before tumbling back down and out of the charts.

With single sales less lucrative for record comanies these days, Dannii's failure on the album front appears to have been too much for Warner to bear.

The rise of Kylie appears to have no ceiling, with her successful pop career now accompanied by a riotously successful lingerie line, Love Kylie.

Figurines of the diminutive star are also giving the likes of Barbie a run for her money, while even her troubled love life seems to be settling into a happy groove with French screen hunk Olivier Martinez.

Well the word is out Kylie Minogue and Michael have teamed up with the same Director for her new Video "Chocolate." Dawn Shadforth and the team have just completed filming the mega budget project. Michael has told us that Kylie fans will be so surprised at what they see. Their is a cast of 12 gorgeous girls and one classically trained male ballet dancer. IM really excited about this one Kylie has worked so hard for this we rehearsed for about 6 days which is unheard of these days for a video. We just finished it up and its one of the most beautiful projects I have worked on. It is wonderful to have Dawn Shadforth back at the Directing helm. She is an amazing Director and really knows how to shoot dance. Kylie is magnificent as she dances around in this hypnotic state. And the most amazing thing is that she will be dancing one on one with the male dancer. Its kinda of a tribute to the old MGM musical thing. IM so proud of her. Michael told us he will keep us posted for the release date for her new Video "Chocolate," to be released sometime in June 2004!!!!!

HBO: Bill Maher: New Rules: "New Rule: Big, crappy airlines have to stop pretending to be cute, little airlines. First, Delta created Song, and now United has Ted. And Virgin has one coming called 'Slut.' You're supposed to believe that you're flying on an adorable little start-up, when really it's the same-old-same-old, except the stewardesses wear baseball caps. Plus, airlines are not among the industries I wish to think of as 'mom-and-pop' operations. As far as I'm concerned, the bigger you are, the better!

New Rule: Computers aren't for voting. They're for picking up under-age girls. Voting by computer sounds really cool and futuristic, if this were 1969. But now that we all have computers, we know that they are, in fact, huge fuck-up machines! They're like having a compact silicon version of Gary Busey on your desk. You never know what's going to happen. Well, I'll tell you what'll happen. Some 13-year-old hacker in Finland is going to hand the presidency to Kylie Minogue!

You thought the 2000 election was bad. Wait until the next one is decided by a customer service rep in New Delhi. "

German men favour auto-erotica - SpecialsStrangeButTrue - www.smh.com.au: "German men favour auto-erotica
May 10, 2004

Most men in Germany would rather spend a weekend with a flashy car than with a sexy female celebrity, according to a new survey due out today.
Only Aussie singer Kylie Minogue was a preferred companion over a four-wheeled beauty, but only just.

Given the choice between having their hands on a Ferrari Enzo or on Pamela Anderson, 86 per cent of German males in the survey chose the car, the survey for Men's Car magazine said.

Just 25 per cent of respondents chose Britney Spears over a Lamborghini Gallardo.
Kylie, however, scraped by with 53 per cent when put up against a Porsche Carrera GT, the survey showed.

German women, in contrast, nearly always opted for a weekend with a hot male celebrity over a car.

A whopping 75 per cent said that, given a choice between two Brits, they would choose songster Robbie Williams over a Bentley.

Hoop gives girls a whoop

From ANTONELLA LAZZERI
in Los Angeles

RANDY rocker Lenny Kravitz has revealed why he is such a hit with gorgeous girls — he has a metal hoop pierced in his willy.

Lenny, 39, whose dates have included Natalie Imbruglia, Kylie Minogue and Nicole Kidman, said the 10p-sized hoop makes him a beast in bed.

He added: “I’ve never taken it out.

“It hits the lady where she likes it. And because it swings, it can be effective in any position.”

Lenny made his candid confession in FHM magazine as Nicole, 35, stepped up her bid to stop him revealing all about their romance in a planned film of his life.

A source close to the actress — tipped to wed Lenny before they split in December — said: “She was shocked when she heard of his plans. She was always very discreet about their relationship.”
