Label dumps Dannii

DANNII Minogue has been dumped by her record label, Warner, after sales of her latest album, Neon Lights, flopped in the UK.
In stark contrast to the success of older sister Kylie, Dannii now faces a battle to get re-signed for any releases down the track.
"Dannii won’t be releasing another record with Warner. She enjoyed some success but just doesn’t sell enough records to merit a new deal," a label insider told The Sun in London.
"She is a bit disappointed but has vowed to get a new deal elsewhere. She is writing some new material and hopes a smaller label may snap her up.
"These are tough times for pop acts and I’ve a nasty feeling there is more of a clear-out to come."
Fellow Aussie Holly Valance has also been axed recently, perhaps proving that the soap star to pop star bubble is now longer inflatable.
Dannii's success with singles in Britain has been more upbeat than the album sales.
While she's missed out on coveted No.1s - something Kylie has achieved with regular ease in Britain and across Europe - her recent single I Begin To Wonder did reach No.2.
Don’t Wanna Lose This Feeling, Dannii's most recnet UK release, scrambled to No5 before tumbling back down and out of the charts.
With single sales less lucrative for record comanies these days, Dannii's failure on the album front appears to have been too much for Warner to bear.
The rise of Kylie appears to have no ceiling, with her successful pop career now accompanied by a riotously successful lingerie line, Love Kylie.
Figurines of the diminutive star are also giving the likes of Barbie a run for her money, while even her troubled love life seems to be settling into a happy groove with French screen hunk Olivier Martinez.
