Inspiration ... Kylie with patient

By VICTORIA NEWTONShowbiz Editor
CHILDREN with cancer were given a boost yesterday when fellow battler Kylie Minogue paid them a surprise visit.

Kylie, 37, looked relaxed and happy as she made her first public appearance since her breast cancer op.

She hugged, kissed and chatted to the youngsters at the Royal Children's Hospital in her Aussie hometown of Melbourne.

One said: “Kylie saw what was going on on the TV and decided she wanted to get up and do something positive.

“She decided the time was right yesterday and rang the charities she is involved with. The children weren’t told she was coming. Their faces lit up.”

Dave Rogers, of kids’ cancer charity Challenge, added: “This did Kylie as much good as it did the kids. I think she needed to see other people battling cancer. She seemed to take strength from the fact these kids are fighting it like she is.”
