Olivier Martinez has revealed girlfriend Kylie Minogue has a fishy habit he finds annoying. The French actor told a US television talkshow today that Minogue recites lines from last year's animated blockbuster film, Finding Nemo, and it gets him hot under the collar.
"She says 'Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming' all the time," Martinez said on NBC's The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "I don't know what it means exactly."
US comedienne turned talkshow host DeGeneres was the voice of one of Finding Nemo's stars, a blue fish called Dory.
"By the way, she's a big fan of you," Martinez told DeGeneres. "She is always doing Dory. It's a bit annoying after a while."
Martinez and Minogue rarely talk publicly about their relationship, but he had little choice on DeGeneres' show. As Martinez was introduced to the audience and walked on stage, Minogue's song Love at First Sight was played. DeGeneres also pulled out a photo of Minogue and Martinez together. When Martinez saw the photo he took it off DeGeneres and hid it from view.
"What's wrong with that?" DeGeneres asked. "Why did you do that?"
A sheepish Martinez replied: "Why, nothing, it's just that ..."
DeGeneres said: "She's not going to be happy that you did that."
That is when Martinez confessed Minogue was a big fan of the American comedienne and repeatedly recited lines from Finding Nemo.
"Kylie Minogue is walking around the house singing 'Just keep swimming'?" an impressed DeGeneres asked. "Wow. Thank you Kylie, that's very sweet. I'm a big fan of hers as well."
At the end of the interview DeGeneres presented a Dory doll to Martinez to give to Minogue. When the doll is squeezed it repeats some of Dory's lines from the movie.
"This is for Kylie," DeGeneres said. "She'll like that and you'll be annoyed with me now because it actually talks."
Martinez, who co-starred with Diane Lane and Richard Gere in 2002's steamy hit Unfaithful, will be seen next month in Australian cinemas when Taking Lives, a thriller co-starring Angelina Jolie, opens.
