KYLIE MINOGUE RAPS POP Although well known for skimpy costumes and provocative poses, the Australian singer Kylie Minogue, 35, has criticized what she calls the "pornographing" of pop culture. In an interview with the German magazine Der Spiegel, she said, "When I see some of these hip-hop videos, I'm as horrified as my grandmother and think, `Oh God, what gross things are they doing there.' " She added, "In advertising and in lifestyle magazines, you see more and more of a pornographing of pop culture." The BBC reported that her comments were echoed with a new study at the University of Colorado that found that pop had become cruder, more self-centered and sex-oriented.
