Capitol Records' Pop Superstar Kylie Minogue To Star in New Bally Total Fitness Advertising Campaign
CHICAGO, Jul 9, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ --

Kylie's First Bally TV Spot to Feature Her Hit Song 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'

Bally Total Fitness (NYSE: BFT) announced today that it has launched a new television advertising campaign featuring popular Capitol Records' recording artist Kylie Minogue. The company's association with Kylie Minogue builds on Bally's successful music-fitness strategy, which incorporates today's most popular artists and music in the company's advertising efforts.
Starting this month, Bally Total Fitness will air the first of two commercials featuring the artist. The 30-second spot, titled "Can't Get You Out Of My Head," features Kylie Minogue performing her hit song of the same title from the latest multi-platinum album on Capitol Records, titled Fever. Bally is currently producing a second commercial featuring Minogue, scheduled to air this fall.

"We are very excited to partner with Kylie Minogue, one of the world's most popular artists," said John Wildman, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Bally Total Fitness. "As we build on the natural connection between music and fitness, we are confident that Kylie's spirit, talent and passion will inspire people everywhere to exercise and make a strong commitment to health and fitness."

About Kylie

Kylie Minogue's Fever, the international pop superstar's new smash album, has taken its worldwide success to U.S. shores, debuting at #3 on Billboard's Top 200 and selling almost 115,000 copies in its first week. Fever has sold well over 2 million copies worldwide and is already double Platinum in the U.K. where it entered the album charts at #1.

Propelled by the infectious leadoff single "Can't Get You Out Of My Head," which has gone to #1 in 17 countries and is currently #9 on Billboard's Top-40 Tracks, the album, released on Capitol Records, has quickly replicated its global acclaim in the U.S. Rolling Stone asked, "Does America need Kylie Minogue? Yes!" -- calling her "a perfect pop singer." Entertainment Weekly called Fever "the best sort of pop dessert" and a New York Times headline proclaimed "She's taking on America."

After performing her hit song "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, MTV's TRL, Saturday Night Live and MTV's Spring Break 2002 live from Cancun, Mexico, Minogue is currently promoting her platinum single, titled "Love At First Sight."
